The First Invesment Relations Prize Winners of Turkey
Winners of the “Investor Relations Awards”, organized for the first time in Turkey with the cooperation of Thomson Reuters and Acclaro, are announced. TAV Airports Holding, rewarded by the three prizes in the categories “Best Investor Relations by CEO Award”, “Best Investor Relations Web Site“, and “Best Investor Relations Officer” of the Investor Relations Awards held for the first time this year.
Charles Ross, Managing Director of Acclaro and founder of Turkey’s 1st Investor Relations Awards, commented as: “These awards mark the first step in a process that we hope will propel Turkey, its listed companies, its financial institutions and its financial expertise into a position of regional dominance. TAV Airports Holding, rewarded by the three prizes in the categories “Best Investor Relations by CEO Award”, “Best Investor Relations Web Site“, and “Best Investor Relations Officer” of the Investor Relations Awards held for the first time this year.
Major representatives of the Turkish business world had participated in the event where awards were given for 8 categories. TAV Airports Holding CEO and President Sani Şener, awarded by second prize in “Best Investor Relations by CEO” category stated that; We are proud to be rewarded in 3 categories in the contest held for the first time in investor relations as only two years have passed since our public offering. The awards we have received on behalf of our 11 thousand employees are the best payoff to our investors.”
TAV Airports Holding won the first prize in “The Best Investor Relations Web Site” category and TAV Airports Holding Investor Relations Manager Nursel İlgen ranked as the second in “Best Investor Relations Officer” category.
Nursel İlgen expressed that; “We are endeavoring for increasing the shareholders’ value by investor relations implementations carried out in international standards. To achieve our mission we are informing all the investors and analysts simultaneously and on time, steadily and accurately. We are motivated to take our practices to a higher level each year as specific standards are defined by Investor Relations Award.”
Major representatives of the Turkish business world had participated to the event where Ergun Özen (Garanti Bank) won Best Investor Relations by CEO Award; Turkcell won Best Communication of Corporate Governance and Disclosure Award; Koç Holding won Best Communication of Financial Results Award; Turkcell won Best Investor Relations Annual Report Award; Garanti Bank won Best Investor Relations Department Award; Serkan Okandan (Turkcell) won Best Investor Relations by CFO Award and Funda Güngör (Koç Holding) won Best Investor Relations Officer Award. Also, Mike Harris (Merrill Lynch) was rewarded by Best Financial Analyst Award and Bank of America Securities-Merrill Lynch had the Best Financial Research Institute Award.
Cüneyt Türktan and Alpaslan Korkmaz were rewarded by Acclaro Prize (Capital Markets Services) and Turkcell was rewarded by Disclosure and Investor Relations Grand Prize.
Consisted of an independent survey, facilitated by Thomson Reuters and Acclaro, is the first of its kind. The activities and their affectivity of the companies regarding investor relations were evaluated profoundly and attentively and the winners were rewarded in the Gala Night.
