TAV receives occupational safety award from the UK

TAV Airports was awarded by British Safety Council (BSC), one of the world's leading companies in occupational health and safety.

TAV Airports, Turkey's global brand in airport operation sector, was presented with an award in the International Safety Awards organized by British Safety Council for the activities carried out at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. A total of 623 applications worldwide were received for the awards and the results were announced during the ceremony held in London. During the ceremony, HSE Manager Emrah Gürer received the award on behalf of TAV.

TAV Istanbul General Manager Kemal Ünlü stated "Today, TAV Airports operates 18 airports in seven countries. Over 30,000 TAV employees endeavor to offer the best travel experience to our passengers 24/7 at every service point. At TAV, we have always been aware that happy employees create satisfied passengers, and therefore have placed our employees' happiness to the core of all our operations since the company's establishment. We continuously review all our operational processes to make them safer and healthier for our employees and stakeholders. We are proud to have been presented with this significant award for the occupational health and safety works that we have been carrying out at Istanbul Atatürk Airport for the last eight years. We are glad to have the opportunity to verify once more that we offer global services in airport operation at the highest standards and we believe that we are a true representative of our country".

British Safety Council CEO Mike Robinson stated: "At British Safety Council, we appreciate TAV's success. These activities provide benefits to the employees, as well as their families, companies and the society. To be eligible for International Safety Awards organized by British Safety Council, the companies must confirm that they have not suffered any fatalities, been the subject of any convictions in relation to health and safety and had any ongoing criminal investigations or prosecutions pending in the previous year.

TAV Airports was awarded for the training sessions, activities to raise awareness and applications to create a healthier work environment for the employees with the goal to achieve zero work accidents at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. The jury found TAV praiseworthy for providing 100,000 hours of occupational health and safety training on 108 different issues in the last eight years and publishing a book called CaricatuRISK for raising awareness on the issue innovatively.
