TAV Academy gathers aviation leaders in Istanbul
TAV Academy organized a new training program to share its know-how in the aviation industry. Over 30 aviation professionals working at leading airports worldwide were welcomed in Istanbul as part of the Searching Excellence in Airport Management - SEAM program.
TAV Academy, the training and consultancy brand of TAV Airports, hosted leading global airport operators at TAV Headquarters in Istanbul Atatürk Airport by its new training program. As part of the Searching for Excellence in Airport Management (SEAM) program, mid-level and senior executives of Aéroports de Paris (ADP) from France, Schipol from Holland and Incheon from South Korea as well as TAV had the opportunity to exchange information and ideas about ongoing and upcoming trends in the aviation industry.
TAV Airports Holding Vice President in charge of Human Resources Hakan Öker stated: "Today, TAV Airports is operational at 70 airports in 17 countries with its services and products. TAV is a global company with vast experience and know-how in designing, financing, constructing and operating airports and, thanks to TAV Academy, we have the opportunity to transfer this experience and know-how with other national and international professionals of the sector. Our new training program, SEAM, offers multi-dimensional training comprising various subjects such as; analysis of trends in airport operation, strategies, relationships with stakeholders, case studies, etc. It is an honor to share our know-how with the leading airport operators of France, Holland and South Korea. As a training center of ICAO, the main global organization of civil aviation, we will continue our activities to make TAV Academy a global training center."
Program trainers included TAV Academy General Manager Barış Müstecaplıoğlu, TAV Academy Project Coordinator Candemir Akyıldız, Havaş Business Development Manager Erdost Erden and Havaş Legal Counsel Selçuk Cogen. During the three-day training program, several presentations were made about trends in the aviation industry, the expectations of stakeholders, outstanding examples, etc. Furthermore, a field trip was held at Atatürk Airport.
TAV Academy, a subsidiary of TAV Airports, was founded in 2006 in order to meet the in-house training and development requirements of the employees. TAV Academy provides in-class training to more than 14,000 trainees and reaches more than 18,000 employees via e-learning. Becoming one of the pioneering corporate academies certified by the Ministry of National Education in 2014, TAV Academy was also listed amongst the accredited training organizations of the Turkish State Airports Authority (DHMI) and the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the main organization of global civil aviation, in 2015. Having been listed as the 16th private training organization of the ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Program, TAV Academy has begun organizing globally recognized aviation training programs. TAV Academy has also been one of the 15 global training centers of Airports Council International (ACI) since 2010 and organizes training sessions concerning airport operation every year. TAV Academy also offers training and consultancy services with its TAV Aviation Minds brand at other airports which are not operated by TAV Group in Saudi Arabia, China, Georgia, etc.
