A joint exhibition at Ataturk Airport by TAV employees and Dacka students
“My Workplace, My School” photography exhibition jointly prepared by TAV Group employees and Darussafaka students is now open for visitors at TAV Gallery Istanbul which is located at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Turkey’s leading global brand in airport design, construction, finance and operation, TAV Group continues producing different projects in art and culture. Following an approximately 6 months of joint work by TAV Workshop Photography Club run by TAV Group employees and Darussafaka Educational Institutions Photography Club, “My Workplace, My School” exhibition project has now been materialized. Opened at TAV Gallery located on the Departures Floor at Istanbul Ataturk Airport International Terminal, the exhibition will be visited by thousands of passengers during the next one month period.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, TAV Group CEO Sani Sener said “As TAV, we continue our increasing support we provide for art and culture. The TAV Gallery Istanbul that we have opened at Ataturk Airport, the entrance gate to Turkey, has hosted 30 exhibitions so far. With this platform that we have created at Ataturk Airport where we served 37.5 million passengers in 2011, we are increasing the quality of our passenger’s travel experience to a higher level whilst we have the opportunity of sharing our cultural values with people from all around the world. I am very happy to see the joint work our employees created with Darussafaka students. We are also happy and excited to get to know Darussafaka from the perspectives of our employees and likewise, to see TAV from the perspectives of our young generation studying at Darussafaka."

“My Workplace, My School” exhibition is a result of a 6 month joint work by 17 members of TAV Workshop Photography Club and 20 students from Darussafaka Education Foundation Photography Club. As part of the project, Darussafaka student have visited Istanbul Ataturk Airport for the first two days. During their visits, the students have had the opportunity to observe all the areas of airport operation while they were taking photographs of the airport and the terminals. Later, TAV Workshop members have gone to Darussafaka Schools and taken different photographs as they re-visited their student years. They have done photo shoots at different places within the school including art workshops, library, sports hall and many others.
TAV Gallery Istanbul was founded in 2008 with a mission to support art through providing a platform for passengers to have a good time prior to their flight. As a result of huge demand both from the passengers and artists, TAV Gallery Ankara and TAV Gallery Izmir was also founded at Ankara Esenboga and Izmir Adnan Menderes airports respectively. The exhibition areas are planned to be expanded to 12 airports operated by TAV in six countries.

About Darussafaka Foundation
Meaning “house of kindness” Darussafaka had been founded in 1863 by Yusuf Ziya Pasha, a leading politician at the time, and four of his close friends in order to provide equal opportunity for children who had not had the opportunity for education. Darussafaka is the first civil organization in our country, which has a school of its own that provides a college education to children who has lost their fathers, and who are talented but lack financial means. Children are selected amongst those who apply for an elimination style exam from all around the country. Following a regulation amendment issued on April 14th2012, Darussafaka has now opened its doors to children who lost their mothers besides those who lost their fathers. Continuing its activities with the support provided by individuals, corporations and organizations since its establishment, Darussafaka currently is able to provide nearly 1000 students education on full scholarship, boarding or English education, who are selected through an exam across 65 provinces in our country. Whilst the foundation provides education to thousands of children from 4th course till they graduate from high school at Darussafaka Schools, it also provides scholarship support to 150 students during their further education.
