TAV Construction will design and build hangars at Jeddah Airport, worth 800 million dollars

TAV Construction, with its partners, becoming one of the sector’s leaders in a short period of time by carrying out airport projects in Turkey and other countries of the region, won the tender for SAEI Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Operation facility at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah.

Being the fourth biggest company in the field of airport construction, TAV Construction will now construct the new aircraft maintenance, repair and operation facility at King Abdul Aziz International Airport, which is the entry gate of Jeddah. The tender won by TAV Construction-Al Rajhi Holding-Al Habtoor Leighton Joint Venture is worth a contractual value of 800 million dollars. The facility, which belongs to Saudi Arabia Airlines and which is planned to be completed in 900 days, consists of 11 hangar buildings, together with aircraft maintenance buildings as well as an administrative building, closed car park and aircraft parking aprons. The venture is to carry out the design and construction works of the facility and in case it is demanded, will undertake the second phase of the project, which is already planned.

TAV Group CEO Sani Şener stated the following: "We are more than happy to win the tender of construction works of hangars in Jeddah Airport; this has been another big success after the construction and operation of Medina Airport in Saudi Arabia. This project, which we will carry out together with our partners, is of great significance in terms of expansion works of King Abdul Aziz International Airport, the busiest airport of the country, and it is expected to provide for the operational needs of the next 20 years.
